CURVE

Making everyday items beautiful.

In this collaboration with Umbra, we were tasked to design an item that can be used to display items and used as a functional piece of decor. This could be anything that fit the theme and their brand identity. Curve was a team project with April Seekumar.

Inspired by Umbra's 5 brand values; modern, original, casual, affordable and functional and their current line of existing products. Focusing on the concept of display and considering the manufacturing methods that Umbra uses.

After ideation on many different forms, and exploring with sketch models, we tested multiple models created in Solidworks to then proceed with 3D printing for the final functional model.

Injection molded Melamine paired with chrome plated metal assembled using a friction fit eliminates the need for adhesives and reduces manufacturing costs.
